Understandable, this excerpt from Kanye West’s “Thank you, your welcome” book. I do not think West truely understood how Hip-Hop is now controlled by CEO/Business elites. The ideals of music, the power it truely has to evoke change has been missing. In it’s place has arouse the same capitalism that corrupts anything looked apoun to be an excellent financial investment. For this reason, anything controlled by such characters will become a game of survival of the fittest. Darwinism’s individualistic approach “I get your’s”, “you get nothing” is viciously being applied to this artform. Welcome to the dinner table of the capitalistic elites, your not on the corner spitting verses with lovable minds anymore, not sharing a pair of dynamic puns spit back to back under a “head nodding” aimbiatic beat. Your now in the lions den, the teeth are sharp, the vicious main contagious, watch where you stepping, the moves your making. In other words West welcome to the game of becoming a product. Enjoy the journey, or hate it.
